Coffee Story

Our Alemu Bukato is sourced from 700 family-owned farms located in the Gedeo Zone in the Southern Nations, Nationalities and People's Region of Ethiopia. Ripe cherries are delivered to the Alemu Bukato Washing station where they are sorted, depulped, fermented, washed, and dried on raised drying beds. This floral coffee boasts notes of lemon and nectarine and personifies what is so special about coffees from Ethiopia, a country blessed with the world's richest diversity of Arabica genetics.

Coffee Review

95 pts      Aroma: 9     Body: 9     Flavor: 9    Aftertaste: 9     With Milk: 9

Blind Assessment: Evaluated as espresso. Richly sweet, balanced, floral-toned. Dried jasmine, Concord grape, fine musk, mango, tangerine zest in aroma and small cup. Lively, silky-smooth mouthfeel; resonant, flavor-saturated finish. In cappuccino-scaled milk, jasmine and mango notes are further amplified, deepened by pungent musk underneath.

Bottom Line: A nuanced, richly layered Yirgacheffe espresso with bold fruit and floral tones complicated by hints of fine musk throughout both the straight shot and in milk.
